Biography
The first of the Battalen sisters to emigrate to the US. Apparently left without leaving word. Didn't like Fannie Ronin much. Last place of foreign residence was Gomel, Russia. Was detained at Ellis Island and married Elias Passoff there the next day. Elias then lived at 133 Ave C, New York City. She was a "tailor." Nationality given as Austrian. Her passage was paid for in America. Going to join "cousin" Elias c/o Lefow? Widowed at time she petitioned for naturalization, n Southern Dist (Roll 1361-1394) Pet 397225 - 412300. (Roll 1384) Petition No" 407451 - Petition No" 407872. Passof Ida, Chaie September 14, 1904 Jewish.

1910 Census lists second child as a son, "Phillip." Obviously a mistake for "Faye" or "Frayda," because all other facts match.
